Cheating is not the sexual act.... It is the lies, deception, the lack of disrespect that your partner has for you by going behind your back.
A kiss, no matter how passionate or dispassionate it is is cheating if your partner hides it from you, same with cyber sex, if your partner is going behind your back with it, you can't see who your partner is talking to, then it is cheating.
Very little, if anything, is cheating if both of you are honest about what each of you desires, talk about what is happening (not the sexual specifics but what is going on with the people,( etc. ) you are inovolved with or flirting with., and agree to...
So, your answer is a moving target governed by trust and honesty. The less honesty that exists the more activities would be considered cheating.

Personally I consider cheating sex only. All others are leading up to this cheating. If you catch it before it goes too far then great for you. You have a chance at a good life with this bastard. Ooops sorry. My brother tried to cheat with my wife18 years ago. They got to the kissing stage and was caught. I was this close to filing for divorce, but held back. I am so glad I had, my wife is so devoted to me it is bordering on weird! The only reason for my change of heart was that she was completely honest with me. Telling me every little detail. I was able to find that she was at fault, but my brother did everything in his power to seduce her. Now I'm living with the truth, and my brother (who is now a pastor) is living a lie. He has too or his wife will leave him. By the way that relationship between my brother and myself is defiantly dissolved. He is in no way my brother anymore! All because he lives a lie.

Hmmm, the term "cheating" is wide open to interpretation. I would think that calling something "cheating" would be when it crossed a line in the relationship that damages or destroys trust. When trust has been damaged or destroyed, then there is not much that can be done to rebuilt it, or to save the relationship.
I've been married for 21 years now, and our relationship would be considered somewhat un-usual by Conservatives, but it works for us.

In a relationship..it should be monogamous--cheating would be cyber sex..actual sex with someone else..kissing another man/woman..having sexual thoughts of someone else..flirting..these all lead to hurt and pain..
put yourself in the other persons shoes..would you care if they had cyber sex? would you car if they met at a hotel? whats the difference? do you want to kiss the lips that just kissed someone else? Would you care if he/she just told you the person that jkust walked by was extremely hot and sexy and they had a short fantasy about them? woudl you care if he/she was flirting with someone else? If the answer is yes..then its cheating..

There's many forms of "cheating". If you're doing "anything" that you wouldn't do in front of your spouse, it's a "bad" idea!
Of course a "kiss" is cheating. How would you feel if your partner "kissed" someone else?
Marriage is based on mutual love and respect. If you felt either for your spouse, you wouldn't be "looking" around for something else.
