I believe the goal of Human Life is to:
1 Overcome Advertisty through Struggle.
From what I've seen, it seems that no matter who you are: rich or poor, black or white, young or old, eastern or western--we are all faced with challenges that sometimes shake us to the core. I think those challenges are sometimes placed in our Path to call us to become better, stronger, smarter, and even more sucessful than we already are. Perhaps a person is arrogant, so then they lose everything. Perhaps a person is fearful, so then they are challenged by a bully. Those challenges are not put here to destroy us--but to make us better.
2. Evolve into the highest, best form of ourselves.
If you study the life of Malcolm X, you would see the evolution of someone from complete poverty, depair and dark criminal behavior, to a Man who changed into an intellectual, spiritual fighter for Human Rights who helped changed the direction of America. His life was a slow journey--and he eptitomizes what the essence of a human being is: someone who evolves into the highest form of themselves.
3. To Help Others.
I think we are born to serve. Yes, we are here to achieve Happiness and to enjoy life; but we are also here to Serve. I look at the Queen of England---although she worth about 1 billion dollars--I dont think she is a sucessful human being. Her life is spent totally absorbed by wealth, parties, and other rich people. If she read a newspaper, she would see that there are so many lives she could affect in a positive way. There is poverty in England, there are orphans in India and Africa. She could be building orphanages, homeless shelters, and so many things..Instead--she does Nothing. She is not fulfilling the purpose of her life. She is wasting her life, and that is not the goal of why we are here on this earth.
4. To Be Happy..I dont think we are placed here to be Miserable, Unhappy, Depressed, Abused for the entire time we are alive. Yes, we must overcome the struggle that is out of our control, for example--if we lose our home ina hurricane or an earthquake. However, many people are suffering because they are enduring Opression. We are not here to suffer opression--and then say
"well, life is about Struggle, so thats the way it is"..No, look at what African-Americans have been through for 400 years: bought to America in chains, raped, pillaged, opressed and enslaved. But, we decided that it was Not our Destiny--so we liberated ourselves by fighting and even dying for freedom. Now, there are great African-Americans like Martin Luther King, Barack Obama, and people like myself who are living the American Dream and finding happiness.
5. To Restrain our Lower, Primitave Desires.
Why is there Good, and why is there Evil? Why do human bengs have emotions like Anger, Jealousy, Fear? Why is that a part of our makeup? We are not put here to become murderers, killers, adultereres--even though we all have those desires and capabilities. The goal of a human being is to overcome those base desires. Its a struggle. But this is what separates Human Beings from the Animals.
To Love and Forgive.
There is so much racisim in the world. So much classism and sexism. This person doesnt like blacks or Muslims--the other person doesnt like whites. We are not put here to hate each other based on skin color, wealth, class, etc. We are all a human family. Scientist have discovered that each human being shares 99.9% of the exact same DNA. Its only the last 1% that makes us look different. What a shame to limit life based on skin color, money, and class--how much richer our lives will be if we embrace people who are Not like us.
Peace

The most common goal of Human life is just that, life. Although some people unfortunately end up giving up on life, the majority of humans try to stay alive for as long as possible.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

In a nut shell, it is good that is the common thread and goal of human life, because there is no evil in good, just peace, love, and understanding. When human life has found these, it knows it is home for good.

Love is the highest goal that one can achieve. Once you attain love everything else falls into place, and i am not talking about the Eros type of love or the relationship kind. I am talking about love without expectations or attachment and love of God.

happiness...or atleast what we believe to be happiness. have you ever noticed that once you get the thing you thought would make you happy it doesn't last long? so you find something else which if you had this thing you would be truly happy...until you get it. goes on and on like this. i really belive the grass is always greener on the other side and we should just enjoy the things we have today instead of always trying to get "ahead" in life. you can't miss the things you never had

Pretty much everything. Some people want money, some fame, but the ones that find the most in everyday life want only one thing, and that's happiness.
