When I send a text through my computer I go to my cell service's web site (It happens to be Sprint) and send it from there. I have to log on to my account and then follow the prompts to send a text message.

I use it all the time...open your email to send a message, where it says to-->put in area code, phone number,@teleflip.com in the subject you state your point and then proceed with your message. Refer to this site for more info. http://www.teleflip.com you can use any cellphone number in the world. It's awesome if you have no idea as to who the person's carrier/provider is. Teleflip does it for you.
