It has not reached the level that anti-war activity did during the Viet Nam war did but it is building. The only missing thing would be to bring back the draft and the realization that rich kids were avoiding the draft because of their father's connection much like GW's deferrments.

I have seen a lot of animosity in the debate over Iraq, but that is all it has been so far. During VietNam, there was marching in the streets, protesting and supporting the war, people were beaten and jailed for speaking out against the war, and soldiers returning home from a war they did not choose were insulted and abased by protesters. Having said that, there was a whole lot more adding to the divisiveness of the times, e.g. the civil rights movement, political assasinations, and such.

I have seen both and I do not think that the Iraqi war has promoted as much anti-war passion that Vietnam did, there has been no thousands of people marching in the streets and I do not hear the anti-war music on the radio. Media coverage has not been as strong and all we really hear about is Cindy Sheehan, as far as an anti-war movement. I think many more people feel she is a kook then would have during Vietnam. I think the one thing that would put this on a scale of Vietnam is if the government reinstalled conscription. I think then it would rile the young enough to hit the streets.

I acutally think it does. It seems to be different now in that Vietnam was more of a generation vs. generation conflict as well and the war in Iraq appears to be more idiologically centered accross all age groups.

I wasn't around for Viet Nam, but it seems like the country's pretty polarized, for what it's worth.

I think the country is polarised as far as Iraq is concerned, but is more united regarding the general war on terror.

The country is almost as polarized as they were during the Vietnam years.
Iraq IS Vietnam without the tremendous casualties.
