We have the same problem in the US after Independence Day and New Year's Day. (I was unfamiliar with Guy Fawkes Night so I looked it up. It's sad; I'd never even heard of Guy Fawkes until "V for Vendetta" came out at the movies! But, I digress...) I don't know why people do that in the weeks/months after a holiday celebrated with fireworks. It's annoying and, not to mention, dangerous. (My brother makes the best of a bad situation and quips that it's like living in a war zone.)
It's even more dangerous if one happens to live in an area where people get shot every week. I kid you not, one night, about two months after Independence Day, my husband and I were walking to the grocery store and a firework went off out of no where. My first instinct was that there was a shooting going on. In my attempt to get out of harm's way, I lost my footing and fell into the street right in front of oncoming traffic! It's a good thing the driver of the approaching car was alert and slammed on the brakes in the nick of time.

I was doing tiling and scrubbing grout in my friend's basement. We had chips and beer for diner and were just hanging out scrubbing tile grout. It was actually pretty fun. And both of us having a family history of the British Empire, we were joking in our fake English accents about the 4th of July.

You have to remember that the ones who still let them off are confused!, the clocks went back recently, and as far as their diminished intellect can work out, it is Nov the 5th to them. Bless!

Something to do in the evenings?
Actually, you'd think they'd be saving them for New Year now, wouldn't you?
