Any ideas for creative things to do with them - I am loathe to throw them all out but I can't keep storing them all in boxes.

Decoupage come to mind for me.
You can cover shoe boxes and other boxes for a coordinated storage system... also framing some and hanging on the wall.

You can get a corkboard and arrange your faves on it. You can change them with the seasons.
or put them in an album and write little stories about what the card means to you.

There are many decorating books out that show how to turn memorabelia into a coordinated bedroom with a travel theme or what ever the cards are.

Mounting them gallery style can fill a large wall and be a conversation starter as you point out your favorites.
the frames can be inexpensive and stationary in a color that suits your room will make them match even if the cards are very different from one another.

properly, this is particularly no longer a postcard -- even regardless of the undeniable fact that it seems particularly an identical and the point, too, is very practically comparable. this is an aerogram. in case you don't be conscious of what this is, right this is this is dictionary definition: a sheet of easy-weight paper, bearing an real postal stamp imprint, this is folded to sort its very own envelope and could be sent with the help of airmail at a particular, less costly because of the fact of its well-known length, easy weight, and scarcity of enclosures. Such enveloped used for use interior the previous to minimise value and make writing common -- in India and Nepal a minimum of. i don't be conscious of approximately western international places. With the introduction of greater better communique techologies there use has stopped those days. The content cloth of the postcard is as Walkers and Koranga have written, even regardless of the undeniable fact that, there is not any point out that it turn into from Prithvi Bir Bikram Shah Dev's time.. this is a clever wager.. Old postcards are worth money, so don't throw them out.
Sell the ones you don't want to keep, or trade with a friend for something they have.
You can make the cards into coasters; that's what I'm doing with some card fronts.
Frame the nice postcards.

With your postcards, it is fun to take them and kinda modge-podge them all together, and make placemats or 'wall paper'. When you get enough of them together, if you have a glass table, it's very attractive to attach them under that to protect it from water damage, yet still able to view. With B-day cards, take the inspirational poems or things that people have wrote in them, cut them out and include them in a scrapbook along with a picture to commerate your loved ones.

Best thing to do is to try and sell your postcards either on Ebay or go to a proper auction and put them up for sale there as you could get a fair bit of money from them.

First thing go through them and make sure there are not any that are worth something. Some of these go for a pretty Pennie these days!
After that then think of destroying them or making them into something.....
If they are used make sure you check out the stamp on them!

Nursing homes might be happy to accept them to be used in crafts by the residents....ask around, one home may not be interested but maybe the next one would be thrilled, depending on how creative their activity director is.
