For starters if you remember watching the movie Cinderella was barefoot at the time the spell was cast. The glass slippers appeared from the spell. Everything else had a time limit and changed back. Since the glass slippers weren't the only things that weren't transformed they stayed as they first appeared.

Her clothes and shoes did change or at least the ones she was wearing did. Since she lost one of her glass slippers it was not longer under the spell and stayed glass. But it should have changed when the prince put it on her foot later but I guess this would kinda mess up the story and it would probably freak the prince out. So the answer Im trying to give you is I don't know, it just made the story easier to tell.

Are you expecting that every aspect of a fairy tale should make literal sense? None do. Fairy tales are literary precursors to Hollywood's special effects. In the story of Cinderella, the glass slipper is integral to the story's happy ending. Without the glass slipper, all you have is a pointless story of domestic abuse and identity theft.

Because one fell off on the way down the stairs. She removed the other so she could run faster. With them removed, when she changed back, they weren't on her body so they did not change. Everything that she was wearing or touching at the stroke of midnight changed back to it's original form.

At least that's what I think happened and that is what I told my little girl. when she asked.

Because she lost the glass slipper at the ball(plot point), and since it was separated from her, the time limit of the magic ceased to apply, as the spell was cast upon her directly
