Probably colic. My son did this, too, and we tried everything. Swaddling works well, but sometimes you just have to wait it out. It's so hard, but it will get better!! Ask the doctor about it too. There may be something else bothering him. Good luck!
By the way, someone mentioned crying it out. I personally don't agree with crying it out, but if you choose to do that, wait until the baby is AT LEAST 4-5 months old.

sounds like colic
when a child who is otherwise healthy cries for more than 3 hours per day, it is a condition known as colic, which is perfectly normal and eventually goes away on its own.
It's estimated that up to 25% of all infants have colic. It usually starts between the 3rd and 6th week after birth, and goes away on its own by the time the baby is 3 months old.

Take him to the doctor and see if it is colic, if it is it will go away at about 4 months, there are things you can do such as carry him around with you, turn on the vacuum or a fan for some white noise, I know it's very tiring and agitating but you'll get through it!

I just read the time on your post. Wow! Thats a long time for a baby to cry. You need to take him to the doctor if he is crying for more then 3 hours in a row. It might be the formula your son is eating.

Sounds like Colic to me as well. Here are some ways we soothed my daughter when she had colic...
Let her swing in her infant swing. If you have to leave the child in while they sleep, they will be fine. The movement helps!
Use Mylicon or other infant gas drops. We put Mylicon in each of my daughter's bottles.
Do not let them get over stimulated. Keep them in a quiet place with out much going on.

My son has colic, and this is what it sounds like to me. My doctor switched his formula to alimentum (similac) and it has REALLY helped. its about double the price of the normal similac but it is SO worth it. also try the gas drops and gripe water (you can get it from babys r us)
Hope this Helps!!

None of my kids did that!! It sounds like it could be colic... I've never experienced that, but you might want to check it out with your son's pediatrician... have you tried just putting him in the crib and letting him cry it out?? It might take a couple times but maybe he's just trying to get attention.. Good luck to you
