Got a toy or model boat laying around?

If you're talking about a disposable aluminum pie pan, then I'd just cut the rim off, so I'd have a flat sheet of thin aluminum. Then I'd press the sheet against the hull of the toy boat, until the aluminum takes the shape of the hull.

Then I'd either cut another pan, trace to outline of the "deck" area by turning the formed sheet upside down and going around it with a marker.

Then I'd cut a deck and would fasten it in place with tape or hot glue...

You'll need a weight at the bottom of the model or it will be prone to tipping over and taking on water.
