i live in a pretty populated place and this fox has been lurking around my yard in the day time does that mean he has rabies

i would call animal control just to be safe because if it is sick and it bites a little kid playing outside which very well could happen because a kid sees a fox and can be like oh lets pet the doggie and i would tell the people u live around so they are aware

Any animal can be seen at any time. Just because you see a fox at a time you never have before doesn't mean it's sick. Just watch the animal and see if he is acting strange. Also,consider yourself lucky to see such an animal,not everyone does.

No, it doesn't mean it has rabies.

The problem with urban foxes is that they have become tame, and are not afraid to show their faces near humans anymore.

To some extent, they are dependant on us, as they search for food in piles of trash.

foxes do sometimes come out in the day ,he is probably hungry or sick
and searching the dustbins for food,people should not encourage them by feeding ,that is a lot of the reason they come in to built up areas

no, not necessarily, It May just mean he is living in your yard.
Urban foxes gotta live Somewhere----under houses, in old sheds.
get out your field glasses, observe, take notes--your are lucky to have him
