There are NOT 30 million Leaf Fans...As a matter of fact, I know very few, because I don't live in Toronto. I know one guy who used to be a Leaf fan....His favourite player was Dave Keon.
I don't think he watches hockey on TV anymore, because we are all sick of watching the Leafs every Saturday night.....another instance of the CBC catering to Toronto...but that's another story. I, personally will cheer for any team except the Leafs.

Your stats are off, certainly. But one reason that there could be more 'Leaf' fans is that the team goes back to the 'Original Six'. They should be respected as an old and honoured tradition in the game - whether or not you like the team today. And while I'm at it, God Bless CBC for showing the Leafs every Saturday night. When Alberta supports the rest of the country with their tax dollars, then we can watch the flames every Saturday. Until then, be grateful that Toronto is a city full of workaholics...cause they are contributing considerable tax dollars to support the other provinces.
