I was never worried or confused about Santa, you see all type of movies and hear all the stories about him. The fact that your parents are there when you meet him and you know he is going to bring you some presents might have something to do with him being an okay stranger to meet.

Parents don't want kids talking to strangers becuase the stranger might kidnap the child, but when they are with Santa, the parents are right there, and they think Santa is the best person in the world, so they don't consider him a stranger.

We tell our children not to talk to strangers because even as adults we need to be very cautious about the company we keep and even though someone seems nice, they could be out to do us harm. I do not plan to subject my children to santa because what you're saying is true. What if they are out on the street and some guy gives them some candy? They are gonna think it's alright to go with that person because they were nice and because they gave them a "gift".

We try to teach them to be safe. But often times they forget. Santa is technically a famous icon like Mickey and isn't considered dangerous.

We as parents tell our kids to stay away from strangers because we don't want our kids to become abducted, raped, or worse, murdered by a predator. Unfortunately, kids who are sexually molested or abused are abused by a person they actually know, and not a stranger...... Sad but true.
