80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

I think the big fella is really way to busy to have a laugh on us. But the meaning is different for each person. For some it is money others it is happiness. I think a great many people try to find it in others and spend too much time wondering what is going on.

There is no Big Fella, and the meaning of life is whatever you make of the opportunities you are presented with. Meaning is what you invest in it, what YOU create...

Your question is interesting because you obviously believe in the creation account and therefore you accept the concept of there being a meaning to this life.
I have found, in my own life, that doing those things that offer me fulfillment, meaning and purpose answer the question for me.
I believe that deep within all of us there lies a desire to do something.
For myself it is writing, helping others and searching for deeper understandings of people.
While these things may not excite you they have given me meaning, purpose and fulfillment.
I hope that, perhaps, this will assist you in your quest for the Meaning of Life.

The best answer I've ever heard is: Life is not about what we can get out of it, but what we can bring to it.

Could be, i've heard that life is just a cosmic joke. I have found that the essence of our being is unconditional love and it is our duty to express "that". You are a hueman being, spirit, unconditional love, "God dwells within you as you",your purpose is "BEING". All things are but God expressing his vision of himself.
