You need to have a plan to answer these questions based on what you know the company is needing in an employee.

What made you think that you were qualified for the job when you first applied for it? Think about what the job announcement said.
Are they looking for customer service specialists? Are they looking for workers that are dependable and always on-time?

Write down what they are looking to get in an employee, then write down your answers to each of the questions. I work for the Federal Government, and all of the announcement have KSAs.
Those are Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities that you tell the employer why you should be their choice. Take the time to write these down; no one else will see them so do not worry about the format. Seeing the questions and answers in your own writing
will make it easier to answer the questions during the interview.

Good Luck!

The right answer depends on the specific job/ position. Think of what the position requires (or what the hiring manager thinks it requires) and answer it from their perspective. This question is not really about you, but is more asking why are you a (better) match for this position than anyone else who might be applying? And part of the answer that you must provide is that you know better than anyone else what the job requires, you know what you can provide, and that is why you are the best fit for the job compared to anyone else.

As to how to figure out what the job requires... talk with people who work in similar jobs, people who hire for such jobs, or people who work in similar industries.

Hope this helps... sorry I can't be more specific without knowing what job it is, but just know that this is NOT a generic question. This is to test your knowledge of the job itself, your understanding of the job, and your level of fit/ compatability with the job itself.

Whats got me thru the door more than a few times, is ask the Interviewer, why should I WORK FOR YOU? I am quick and efficient also.
Your last statement depends on if you have experience in the position. Be honest and indicate that you can start right away (Today/Now). It helps.
