I don't know how long you have been at nursing.. but give it another week please. It really does get easier. My milk came in on Day 5... can u imagine how worried I was!
Contact LLL or look on kellymom.com it really is the best thing for baby. there are hundreds of nutrients in bmilk that are not found in formula.
If you have exhasuted all means of attempting to nurse then ff is a good suppliment & ou should be very proud of yourself for trying. You are a wonderful person!

hiya, congratulations on becoming a mummy AGAIN!! well done, i had this trouble with my daughter she would not take from the breast at all so i was advised to use sma as its meant to be the closest thing to breast milk.. she lapped it up but was always wanting more all the time at newborn 4oz wouldnt satisfy her for more than an hour so i swapped to cow and gate and she was the best happy and contented baby in the uk lol (each baby is different though u may have to try one or two to get you started off but remember dont be alarmed if the first few days of using a new formula she might get green poop until her body is used to it so dont discontinue for at least two weeks u start off the with the green one and switch to the blue one when you dont feel its enough for her anymore usually around 4 or 5 months( or ask you health visitor to help you decide if your unsure of formula milk) good luck remember not every baby likes the breast its nothing to worry about 60% of us were bottle fed and are all normal and healthy (have you tried expressing first and trying to use a bottle she might prefer that) the choice is yours x x

enfamil Lower iron
it's great it doesnt consipate your baby and your baby stays regular. It does have right amount required iron in the formula.
I found this formula to be best because other brands consipated my baby especially ones with extra iron. I've had 4 children so I do know what I am saying all mine did great on Enfalac regular which is now called Enfamil lower iron. It's a pink and white can. I have a 4 months old right now and my baby is weighing 19 + pounds my baby is real healthy and happy with the formula.
Now If your doctor suggests your baby needs extra iron more than the regular daily requirment then try Enfamil A+ yellow white can but be prepared like I said earlier all formulas with extra iron causes consipation.

It's really up to her, and what her belly tolerates best. I've tried similac, enfamil & good start. Similac doesn't mix up very well & smells the worst. Good Start is OK, and it's the cheapest of the 3. I like Enfamil the best though, it mixes up good, doesn't stink, and my baby takes lower-lactose Gentlease as a supplement to breastmilk.
I would recommend buying a breast pump if you can, so that you can bottle feed her a mix of breastmilk & formula. My last two are breast & bottle fed, where my first one was strictly bottle fed after 6 wks, and I really see a difference in the number of colds & ear infections.

Aptamil was the best for my daughter. I changed from breast to bottle when she was 6 months due to health reasons. My midwife believed that sma was a very rich formula. I used cow and gate at first and my daughter was sick all the time. Everyone will advise you of different names that have worked for there baby but you need to find one that suits yours. The midwife is the best person to advise you.
Good luck xx

Hi,
My little one was born at 24 weeks and I breastfed for the 1st 4 months and found it horrendously hard. When he first moved over to formula I felt so guilty but he went onto Aptamil and has no problem.
Of all formulas I receommend this one as he has was premature he can be more prone to digestive problems and he has had no issues with this. It comes in powdered and ready made and can be found in Boots and Asda.
Hope this helps

I used SMA and it was fine.
In the UK and I'd assume it will be the same in the states, the production of formula is very strictly regulated to ensure they carry all the vital vitimans and nutrients so there isn't really any difference between them, apart from perhaps price so why not try the cheapest?

i always liked good start supreme simply because the other formulas were iron ofrtified adn it made it hard for my new born to digest and good start is amde with so many proteins that better help break down teh formula because at thier tendr young age, their tummys are not developed enough to be doing any vigorous digesting...but it also depends on your baby, some might make her constipated so give it on e your try at least a month before you pick one and always talk to your pediatrician about what you want to do regarding ehr because he might have some suggestions that will better help you break down on wihich formula he thinks is best for your baby's body, personality, wieght etc
