I've had no other streaks of blood. I'm 14 weeks pregnant and my next ob appointment is Wednesday. I'm freaking out. Should I be worried?

I wouldn't be. Sex can cause slight bleeding. It depends on how rough it was and if he hit your cervix by chance. There is a ton of blood flow going on down there right now. It is really easy to upset it and spot a little. I would mention it to your ob but in the mean time just be careful. Next time you have sex I would try it softer and have him not go in all the way. Good luck and don't worry so much. The baby is fine in there.

BTW... nosebleeds during pregnancy are completely normal. The blood vessels are closer to the surface and easier to upset.

Blood after sex is fairly common because the cervix becomes so sensitive,or you might have a low-lying placenta, but you should definitely abstain until you get the all-clear from your OB. Bloody noses are also common, pregnancy messes with your sinuses. From my personal experience, and that of my friends, you're practically guaranteed one reeaaallly bad sinus infection sometime during the second trimester.
So, calm down, take it easy if you can, but more than likely, everything will be just fine. Once you pass week 12, your chances of miscarriage drop by 80%.

Strecthing out the cervix is what that probably was but with a pregnancy you can never be too careful so call your doctor and mention it to them, you might think that they will call you craxy for worrying so much but for me i called every week becuse with a first baby you never know what is normal and what is not and for your body type, you never know waht they say in the books applies to you...call your doctor just to be sure!

It may have been a skin polyp that burst in your vaginal canal, i suggest you call your Midwife ASAP and ask her for her opinion.

Have you had your first scan yet?

Good Luck XxX
