We all know it's quite blatently one-sided, do you think this is good or bad? One the one hand, we are entitled to every side of the story and on the other, it could create greater division in society..What are your opinions..?

Kered, They are one sided, i'm not saying its a bad thing. I am trying to discover the views of other people, not to proclaim my own; it is a question after all..but if you must know I happen to agree that Al Jazeera finally levels the playing field.

By no means is this a one sided channel. There are two reasons why Aljazeera have drawn criticism in the past, the use of overly shocking footage and the ability to receive Al Quieda tapes. The storys are not one sided, they are graphic and detailed and as war is a nasty affair one should expect this. Bring it on, I'll be watching it with much interest. Beats the mindless drivel of Fox News.

Well i think it is pretty one sided, as most, if not all media in the middle east is! Likewise elements of the media in the west. The problem is that people everywhere will always gravitate towards a media source that tells them what they want to hear. In the middle east the media pretty much goes down one track anyway. It would be good if Al Jazeera actually presented an alternative to the diatribe churned out by most of the mid east media. RE British media: the BBC is hardly pro Bush/Blair anyway!

what do you mean it is quite blatently one -sided? it's an arabic news channel. it looks at news items from that point of view. it's like sky news sees things from british point of view and CNN from an american point of view.
i think its a great channel and gives us an insight into how blair and bush effect lives, not looking at it through rose-tinted glasses like the UK & US media
