We all know tht the color of veins is blue but the blood flowin through it is red so it must be either red or dark brown y blue????
i expect sensible answers plzzz... got a viva to give!!!!

De-oxygenated blood is blueish. THe blood inside your veins, if you could somehow look at it without exposing it to oxygen, would appear blue. It's isn't as if the walls of your veins are one color and the blood inside is a different color.

Blue blood is flowing back from the cells to the lungs to obtain more oxygen/hemoglobin, which is the stuff that makes blood red. That's why lungs, and oxygen, are sort of important to all land animals. Arteries carrying the red veins look darker because they are denser than the surrounding tissue of your skin, if you looked at it from the inside you would see it is red (but you would want to puke).

They appear to be blue because the blood is deoxygenated, and a maroon color. Through the skin and tissue, this appears as blue.

Because of deoxygenated air... air without oxygen it blue in color... I think that is the reason anyway... the reason when we get cut it is always red is because the moment it is exposed to air, it turns red.

It is because veins carry deoxygenated blood
Deoxygenated blood is blue in colour

blood is purple until it gets to the air, so when you get a cut the blood is open to the air and it turns red

our blod is blue not red it only changers colour as it mixes with O2
