the above belonged to my mum,who has just died, and I thought it would be fitting to give to a museum. Both are in good condition for the years any help much appreciated. Thanks

i would try your local museum service if thats the area you mum was married/christened in - otherwise you need to try the museum in that area that happened as thats the connection for the museum

- however be warned museum collections do tend to be full of wedding dresses and christening gowns - so be prepared to be turned down on that basis .

However sell them what a good provenance they have - if you have pictures let them know etc (you don't have to donate but they may want copies) as it makes the items much more useable and displayable with a nice history attached!

great idea, go to your nearest musuem so it's people local to you get to appreciate them - if nothing else your local museaum will know where the nearest museaum is that will display them (you will probably find thier telephone number in the yellow pages)

that's a lovely idea
try local ones, if not ask if the national history museum is interested. also many castles would welcome such a piece.
