cultural? perhaps. considered the norm? well, in general terms it would be the case. but i am female and my favourite colour is blue.
and it isn't true, in that all girls and women like pink and boys and men like blue. even though people associate pink with girls and women and homosexual men because it does in some way connote female-like qualities and it is effeminate. but i am also sure that not all gay guys prefer pink. its just a general stereotype that people associate with them and (straight) women.

I think it's something that has been socialized in children while growing up. However I think it's cultural too, because for a while pink was the in color even for grown men, especially in the hip hop culture.

definitely cultural. As a little gal I preferred green over pink, and I was always considered the outcast amongst my pink-loving girl friends.
