Strong in what way? Forget about the quick fix. (so popular here in the US) Strength of conviction, character, and love is a lifelong process. Ultimately these are the things we can "relatively" control. Do things for others without any expectation of reciprocation. When we are motivated to act for others because we want something from them and we don't receive what we want in return, this is a cause of problems. Strength comes from within and everyone has it, it's just trying to connect to it which seems difficult at times. Just be an honorable human being and that strength will become manifest.

Well, I guess everybody would be strong if there was an easy way of becoming strong.

The "secret" to becoming a strong person is appreciating yourself. A high self esteem, the capacity to understand your qualities as well as your faults, being able to use your abilities to the full and minimising your weaknesses, the capacity of using your flaws in constructive ways and having an open view on others will definitely develop a harmonious personality. An individual that appreciates him/herself will have more to gain from life, and get more appreciation and respect from others.

Oh, and as for turning a deaf ear to people who try to put you down - must disagree. Others' criticism might sound as personal attacks, but usually people who criticise you do it because they care about you. Pretending you don't hear what they say might do you more harm than good, as it is important to accept and try to change the things that stop you from becoming stronger. If you turn a deaf ear to them, you might become totally ignorant, but in no case stronger.

Some easy exercises to become stronger that i can think of:
- Lead a group of people, it doesn't matter in what, a school project, a meeting, preparing a party, show others and yourself that you have the ability to lead - a leader must be a strong person!
- Help others with their problems, if someone is crying, be their shoulder and help them get out of it by talking to them, advicing them or listening to them. It's important to be strong when others are weak.
- Show a realistic and objective view on things. Don't get personally involved in things that don't involve you, an objective perspective is always appreciated by others.
- Stand your ground when you think you're right about something, and don't let it go just to avoid an argument. A person that comes up with logical arguments to sustain his/her cause, and doesn't give up easily, is a strong person that others will look up to.
- In a tense situation, be the one that takes the lead, come up with initiative and calm people down, be calm and firm with your decisions.

Hope this helps!

There is not an easy way or a hard way. There is only one way: work hard every day and believe in yourself! Human beings are able to do spectacular things with their bodies and minds. They only have to be ambitious and confident in themselves.

Turn a deaf ear to the people who put you down because YOU know you're unique and there's nobody else on the planet just like you.

Believe in yourself. Identify your strengths and use them to your benefit. Then, identify your weaknesses and work on them. Find a mentor that models who you want to be and that is older than you to work through this process.
