Which is better desktop or laptop?
I dunno which is better.
Desktop:
-Disadvantage: Not portable, louder fan noise.
-Advantage: Better work rate, bigger screen, keyboard.
Laptop:
-Disadvantage: Small screen and small keyboard, no inboard mouse.
-Advantage: Portable, Silent fan noise.
[Imagine the hardwares and softwares are the same]

I have had a number of both. Current technology allows a laptop to have all the features of a desktop while remaining considerably smaller and lighter. If you are interested in moving around at all, there's no question the laptop will be much more convenient. I would prefer a laptop by a wide margin!

Laptop. You'll get used to the small keyboard and the screen size. It's not like the screens are tiny, anyway. And if it's a big deal for you, you can buy a laptop with a big screen. I've found I can work faster on a laptop, anyway. The mouse is a bit of an issue, I guess, but you'll get used to it after awhile.
Team laptop.

At the rate laptops and desktops are dropping in price, you could probably buy both.
Office Depot offers rebates of 150-280 on laptops, to make the price about 500 dollars, so you can use the difference to buy a desktop on sale, a used one, or upgrades to your old one.
As long as you have wireless or fast internet access, and a way to backup your data, such as burning on CD or uploading to a website, you could use both. Some people have one computer dedicated to internet use only (no important files), and keep important files on computer that is not hooked to the internet.

I think it depents on how you're going to use it. Do you travel a lot? do you need to carry your computer with you?
I personally prefer laptops. You can always get an external keyboard and mouse and it will be similar to a PC. I like that I can carry it around very easily.

you have to select it.
I can give you some tips.
If you are a student and would need to record your daily work and should like to have something at class that you can use to get stored past papers etc then, a Laptop would be a better choice.
If you do not have such need and would like to just have some word processing or entertainment at home then, you can possible go for a PC.

My answer is exactly how you phrased it above. Well, it just depends on how you're gonna use it. If you travel, of course, go with a laptop. But, if it's at home, it could be both.
