No, it is not disgusting!! I sleep with 3 dogs (all small ones). I assume, when you want to be intimate with your husband, your dog jumps down to the floor. If you have to force the dog to stop sleeping in your bed, won't he feel rejected and sad - as if he has done something wrong?

I know many people who do. But you should find a way to compromise with your husband. Put an ottoman at the foot of the bed for the dog, maybe.

it is very disgusting!for one thing dogs have fleas.they stink and are very unsanatary.a man has to get dirty at work all day,and some even come home to a dirty house, but when he goes to bed he wants a clean sanatary, place to sleep.who wants a drooling, flea infested, smelly dog in bed with them?it is nasty and i agree with him totally.its ok for you to love your dog but he will learn to hate the dog if hes forced to sleep with it.the dog will be ok anywhere you put it,but whos more important to you..him?,or the dog?..good luck.

Disgusting? No. Problematic, yes.
As much as you love your dog you should respect your husband's wishes if he doesn't like sharing his bed with anything other than you!
And, as you and your husband are the "pack leaders" in your household, your dog should be taught that its place is not in your bed. Get him/her a lovely snuggly petbed in the same room but don't allow it to share yours.

If otherwise you sleep alone, I say enjoy the bed warmer (esp. if he keeps your feet warm), but if you are sleeping with another person (esp. your husband who doesn't like it) I think you should find a nice cozy dog bed and let the dog sleep there.
How do you get any privacy?!?

If he races you to the bed, settling himself first, before you get there. There's no problem if he's been snoozing in your bed and hops off as soon as you show up, but another altogether if you need to order him out of the way, or physically haul him off so you can lay down. If he's challenging you for authourity, you need to put a stop to it immediately,

OK as long as you don't put your husband in the dog house.

i have a cat.
my brother can't stand it, and he's always afraid he's going to roll over on her.
my parents and i don't mind it, and she has taken over my room just recently for such purposes.
in the case of a dog, if it's a big slobbery dog, then it's gross, but if it's a small cute dog i wouldn't care.
