I read that studies were made on the health benefits of drinking at least one glass of plain water upon waking up, first thing in the morning ( even before brushing teeth and taking breakfast).

The article claimed that it can cure sickness and diseases like diabetes, tubercolosis, arthritis and even cancer and many more.

Has anyone tried this treatment before ? Any results ?

Hi,

The reason why people say that when you drink plain water early in the morning, you will improve your health and cure sicknesses is this:

Early in the morning, there are some enzymes inside our mouth that when flushed down together with the water into our bodies, will benefit our general health.

Also, plain (good quality) water will aid in the detoxification process that takes place in the morning.

My mum does it everyday to promote good health.

Can I inquire about what 'treatment' are you seeking? I actually specialize in helping people get the health results that they want via a detox programme.

I have had people with cancer, arthiritis and other diseases recover from the detox.

I believe you know the answer to your question which is that if something sounds to good to be true forget it. Consider for a moment how would a single glass of water have any effect of the body? How could 1 glass of water 'cure' sickness and disease such as diabetes? Diabetes is a complex disease and water does not exert an influence on blood glucose (sugar). Tuberculosis is an infectious disease treatable by antibiotics not water. And so on and so on.

I've never heard anything along this line, but I DO know water is something too few people drink enough of. I also know it can stop certain kinds of headaches (& people think it was the Tylenol they swallowed WITH the water!) as well as some backaches.

ACTUALLY, I WASN'T GOING TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION UNTIL I READ THE PROFESSORS ANSWER. HERE IS MINE: YES! AND HERE IS WHY: DRINKING WATER IS A HEALTH BENEFIT, ITS EFFECTS IN THE MORNING ARE TO BEGIN DIGESTION/METABOLISM WHICH IN TURN BURNS CALORIES, WHICH, DECREASES GLUCOSE LEVELS (NOTE DIABETIC BENEFIT). I AM NOT SOLD ON THE FACT THAT IT IS A CURE BUT IT CERTAINLY HAS BENEFITS. HYDRATED, HEALTHY INDIVIDUALS HAVE A BETTER IMMUNE SYSYTEM TO FIGHT OFF TB, IF EXPOSED TO THE AIR BORNE BACTERIA. WITH ARTHRITIS, HYDRATING YOUR CELLS HAS BENEFITS, BUT, AGAIN, NOT A CURE. YOU KNOW DRINKING WATER ELIMINATES WASTE AND TOXINS FROM YOUR BODY. I'VE NEVER MADE IT A ROUTINE. BUT, I THINK I AM NOW...
