That may be the case, but truth is also subjective.

What is "truth" is an ontological concern; what does it mean for something to be "true" is an epistemological one. Since truth is ontological, I would argue that it is objective or mind-independent. It does not matter what I believe about the atomic number of hydrogen, the truth is that it is 1. (This can be discerned by a posteriori methods.) Granted, there are what one could call social facts or institutional facts. Kierkegaard even speaks of truth as subjectivity. However, there also appear to be what John Searle and others have termed brute facts. In short, the truth does not depend on one's perception of the truth.

One mans truth is not necessarily the same for another.
Naturally there are truths that are established and change for no one. For instance, everyone will die someday. You can reject that all you want but the truth of the matter does not change, you will die someday.
However there are other areas that are less established.
For instance I derive a lot of pleasure from writing and helping others. I enjoy sitting on a river or lake bank contemplating life and people.
Those things are a truth for me and offer me meaning and purpose in my life.
However those same things may very well be torture for someone else.

Well Nik-Nak me boy,
Much of the time, truth is subjective. So actually it does matter what you believe. (in the same way that it depends on where you live)
People can argue that "truth is truth" but we do not have all the facts.
Maybe a better way to say your sentiment is "facts are facts"
Facts are able to be shown as truth.
Truth on the other hand is written by who ever is in power.
Look at Galileo for understanding this.

That's right, the truth will truly be true, and that's the truth. Believing can be the truth, but it can be false true, I mean too.

Yes, exactly. there is no truth except the truth that exists within you!!! Everything else is someone else's truth yo. Believe not what is being said-listen- but listen only to the heart and not the mind. For your heart is open and what you carry of God. Don't listen to your mind. That is always someone else's beliefs.ONLY YOUR TRUTH IS THE TRUTH. YOURS.

It does matter what you believe in, because before you can change from belief to understanding, you need the right basis to begin. It is like the house built on sand, in that it is (seeming) true that it exists, but will in time be washed away. Therefore you must start with your beliefs resting on rock.

There are incontestable truth -like the world is round ( no one can change it) and relative truth (anyone can have a different opinion) like beauty is having a sexy body.
