people can also say 'ur face'. it just means whatever u said to them, that your mom is the same way, type or something else. it doesnt have a really deep meaning. personally, i think its a really lame comeback.

normally some one would say something mean and then the next person would say "your mother"implying that insult back 2 your mother. People often feel more hurt by their mother being disrespected than themselves being disrespected, It a very imature way to deal with an issue.

They are implying that what ever you said was another word for your mother. Making you a son(daughter) of what ever you said. Something even worse. Since it would take something vile to mate with the original insult.

It is just supposed to be the most insulting of insults to insult your mom. Your mother is supposed to be an untouchable almost sacred thing in your life, so someone is really insulting you if they try to pick on your mom.

That's so funny that you ask that question. About 25 years ago my daughter said "your mama" to a kid in our neighborhood. There was an argument between the kids and they all came running in the house to tell. My sister-in-law and I were on the couch chatting and when they told us what happened we couldn't figure out what "your mama" meant. We were saying it with the emphasis on each word and in different tones and just couldn't figure it out. So we called my SIL's son inside and asked him what it meant and he told us it meant that whatever the other kid said meant that my daughter called his mother the same thing. It was very confusing but quite funny.

its a term from Nepolean Dynamite. When Nepolean answered the door a girl was selling things to raise money for college. Nepolean's brother replied "Your mom goes to college." it eventually got shortened to "your mom". its dumb and not always an insult. sometimes its used just to say something
