They speak too fast. Mumble. Whisper and often in a nasel tone.
I don't think RADA was on the right track in the UK years ago, but although I have spent a lot of time in the States and love American films mostly. I simply cannot understand many of them anymore!
Half America eg the Mid-West must find it hard also......
And US distributers have the sauce to re-dub our films when they are released over there saying they can't understand English English!

Different dialects, I guess; and I can understand English english in films. I have never heard of a fil company redubbing a film to an american dialect.

no offense, but how is this a legitimate question? why can't you just set up a blog on your myspace or something along those lines? There are people on this that actually have interesting questions. Your just wasting space on here. Besides, you are making a broad generalization, couldn't you remark about specific actresses? I KNOW that not every single american actress is as you describe?

people in the usa can understand everyone else from the usa, i dont understand half of what the british are saying when the speak, so i think its a matter of what nationality you are before you can understand someone, dont be so quick to judge as someone may not be able to understand you either
