Manufacturing difficulties mean that very few Playstation 3 s will be available before Xmas. 80,000 were available at the Japanese launch and they were all sold immediately despite the high price of the console. This is down to problems in the blue laser diodes.

Just go and buy an X-box 360 then - it is almost as powerful for a fraction of the price.

I know it is crazy. People just can't wait!! There WILL be more before christmas, why would Sony only launch a few when they could make a killing on it before chrismas? I went to a store that said there will be more in a matter of weeks, not months.

there's a shortage of them. People aren't sitting in lines for days trying to get them for nothing. We can all hate sony now along with microsoft for a similar shortage to what happened with the 360.

It will not be available in Europe until March, so buy one and flog it on to some very sad people, who want to be the first to have it!
