It helped George Bush, Dick Cheney and all the other war profiteers such as Haliburton.
We are not safer. As long as our troops are still in Iraq, we are at a higher risk of an attack on American soil. We are fighting insurgents in Iraq, not the terrorists. The terrorists know we are stretched thin in Iraq and know our own homeland security is very weak.
We are less safe than we were on 9/11.

I notice some of the answers did not answer the question. That's because you opened the door for those who lean towards conspiracy and anti Bush/Cheney theory and propaganda.
The answer to your questions: The people of the world are not safer. Although, many citizens of Iraq did benefit by Saddam's downfall, the war has turned into an excellent tool for fanatical islam, they can now say:The western world and infidels are invading the Mid East and must be destroyed. This plays well into the hands of the Jihadist movement and the Iraq war is the perfect platform.
I think it was inevitable that terrorism would finally show it's face to America. Although the war has delayed terrorism and obviously kills many fanatics the pure fact is: Unless we do something (in Iraq) to wake up the Muslim world and start them thinking about what is happening, fanatical islam (terrorist) will be on American streets openly killing us. Are we safer because of the war... I would say no for two reasons: Half of American citizens don't believe the threat exists and we don't have good propaganda skills like the terrorists.

Bush and Cheney made money off of it. And so did the companies they gave the contracts to. The world is NOT safer as Saddam was never a danger to anyone but his own people. He had no WMD's, and his army was a farce. Iraq is in a mess. Many people are without running water and power. Saddam was NEVER a danger to the US. It's all about money and power. And Iraq just happens to be sitting on the 2nd largest oil field in the world.

The citizens of Iraq that were tortured, murdered & raped by Saddam & sons have now chosen to continue the fun with each other. If this is what they want, they are now likely a more efficient killing machine.

It helped the people it was intended to: the big US oil companies and some other big corporations.
All this talk about ridding the world from an evil dictatorship was just so much bull, or did they ever say anything about the Saudi regime?

Living human kind in planet of apes.
What happened after the fall of Iraq was the warning on punishment and destruction of human errors as living examples in Iraq.
The destruction of idol of graven image and idols od statues and living human kind with self images of standing idols of self racism all over the land in public places in planet of apes.
At loss those poor women and children were paying the price of their brothers and sister still with self prides with their self images of standing idols of self racism all over the land as success of ancestor's custom in planet of apes.
A real joke in having their brothers and sisters being strike down by our creator in planet of apes.
At loss with self lack of knowledge on what went wrong out there while others were at loss and blurr with what is going on in Iraq in planet of apes.

Some people will say yes, some people will say no.
It all depends on who you ask.
For the record though my opinion is, the corporate beasts that control our government, no they arent safer, define "safer" and I can give you an answer, and no we are less safe than when he was in power.
