I really want a pet other than the pet fish I have now.

this is a tough one.. becasue I remember BEGGING my folks for a horse and never got one... (well until I moved out)
anyhow.. ok firstly its their house and their money and a pet is a lifetime commitment.. what will happen to it when you move out?? very few landlords allow pets, and Colleges either.. so will your parents want the pet?? or will it be euthanized.. its easy to say you will find it another home but few people are willing to take older pets...
who will be paying the bills and buying the food??
if you want to convince your parents you would be best to consider what kind of pet the like most.. ask them "when you were kids what kind of pet did you have".. maybe they will think about it.. and get a cat for example..
bugging them over and over wont help.. people put up walls when they get hassled over and over and over.. they say NO and dont want to give in.. ask them to think about it, and accept it if they really dont want a pet
pets need to be WANTED and LOVED by the whole familiy.. not just you...
save your money so when you move out you can find a place that allows pets and you can get what you want then...

What kind of pet do you want, how long will it live, and how old are you? Even if you are only 10, chances are that a dog or cat will still be alive when you leave for college, and it will be left with your parents. How much will it cost to acquire and maintain the pet? Puppies and kittens need shots, need to be spayed or neutered, and need to be fed, and all this costs money that your parents may not have. And some people just have a thing about having pet hair in the house. That is a real issue, depending on the pet you get. Birds are the messiest pets ever!!! Is anyone home during the day, or will the pet be alone all day? If that's the case, your pet could be doomed to a lonely life. All that being said, pets teach kids responsibility, and they teach them love and compassion, and even unconditional love. Your dog or cat will still be happy to see you even after you fail history. I don't know how to convince your parents, but maybe this helps you understand some of the reasons they have for saying no. Good Luck!!

Your parents are probably refusing to buy you a pet because you might not be responsible enough or they dont want to wind up taking care of the pet. When you get a pet you have to buy the food, make sure its comfortable and to also make sure that you get the neccessary shots it might need. If you want to get a pet i suggest you show your parents how responsible you are. Do household tasks like your chores without them asking you to do them. If any of your family members have pets, ask them if you could watch their pet for a week and take care of it. If you do get your pet, you have to remeber that it will be another living thing that will be like another responsiblity.... good luck

For you will need to bathe the pet, pick up any droppings wether it is a litter box or out in the yard and then there is feeding them evreyday fresh water everyday plus always giving them attention. If it is a dog you will need to walk it everyday.
