thought it was supposed 2 be prequel but getting confused cos he looks really old 2 be a young naive agent .... honest not sour grapes i'm sure he's a god but he does not look young!

yeah i think its poetic licence they known its not in keeping with the line up but want judy dench to be in the movie I did think it was totally brilliant all the same. I more had a problem with the fact that if james bond was meant to be young and just getting his 00s how come he looked so old?!!

Judy Dench was the original M. So going back a bit in the sequence should put her there. First there was M, then there was Bond.

I was under the assumption that Casino Royale wasn't a prequel to any of the other James Bond films. It was a reboot to the franchise much like Batman Begins. This one is meant to stand on its own and be the beginning of the new series of Bond films.

You're right- and Bernard Lee was the original M... Similiar in the remake of Red Dragon, Hannibal Lecter's first story, Anthony Hopkins is older than he is in Hannibal!!

Bernard Lee is probably dead who played M. I think you hit the nail on the head here. In the first book "Casino Royale", it was M who was a man.
