I'd like to knit one for a guy...are they slightly effeminate? Please be honest.

It would depend on the color. Reds, browns, blacks and dark blues are fine. Also, don't knit one using the fluffy yarn. I think scarves look good on men.

guys can wear scarves. just don't make it pink or knit a hello kitty into it.

They certainly are. The knitted ones pull out of shape easily though... why do't you make him one of plaid wool ... and fringe it? That would be nice .. all you need to do is stitch the edges...

you knit yer wee hart oot and if he doesn't like it send it to me ill wear it as long as its no pink or frilly scarves are meant to keep you warm and that's it in a nut shell ....

ehh its borderline. just do manly colors like navy blue and hunter green
