You need to convert these measurements into metres and then multiply them to get the square metres needed.
So 9ft = 108 inches, which is 2.77m
12ft 3in = 147 inches, which is 3.77m
Square metres = 2.77 x 3.77 = 10.44msq
With laminate flooring, you need to allow an additional 5% for wastage so the total sq meterage you should buy = 10.984 or 11msq. The number of packs you need to buy depends on the coverage given by each pack but just divide 11 by the pack coverage and buy an extra pack if there is a remainder.

Google will do any such calculation for you. Just put into the search bar "9*12.25", press search and it will tell you the answer in square feet. Then get this number, (which is 110.5 square feet) and type in the google bar "110.5 square feet in square metres"
Very clever the google calculator, and faster than the calculator in windows.
