All I have to say is re-read MacGeek's replay. Oh Yeah!! Well done sir!!

The person saying that mac software costs more? I do some serious gaming when I get the chance. My games cost the same as the PC versions. Sometimes thay come out in PC version first, other times as Mac first. (Remember the Marathon series? The Warcraft series? They were ported from Mac to PC (with a severe loss of graphics quality I might add.)

A little side note: The PC mags are for PC users. They are not going to tell them about the competition! (Mac) You might also note that annually the PC mags talk about Apple's demise. Apple has a larger market share now than ever!

The comment about little software for a Mac vs PC? How many word processors do you need? How many spread sheet programs, etc.? All of the MAJOR commercial apps are available for both. (MS brought out the 2000 version of Office for Mac FIRST!!!)

The comment about 98% PC's? Explain then how Apple has more than 25% of the market share? More than any single PC manufacturer!

I have 15 Macs (not counting my Powerbooks and some classics like a fully operational SE-30, 840 AV, etc.) and 1 Compac in my network. They all tie together via Airport (some wireless and some ethernet) The Compaq (running XP Home) is there to show clients (I own a computer consulting company) how fragile and dangerous a Windoze based network can be.

You will find that 98% or more of the people have PCs. I had a Mac- once I got a PC, everything online worked a million times better. Macs are pricier, but for no real reason- they used to be easier to use, but PCs have adapted to that concern.

Also, and worst of all- when you call Mac tech support, they act like it's a favor to talk to you, and man if you have to pay for a repair- watch out! If you thought their product was expensive, wait till you get a repair estimate!

Mac computers are good- their ipod is the best- but I have had both and would not go back to Mac.

New macs with the Intel processor can run most windows based programs...Macs are more expensive because of the way they are configured, and the fact that hey don't come "bundled" with other software you didn't want nor need like a pc. What is boils down to is, how much do you want to spend, what are you going to use it for, and how long do you plan to use it before you replace it?

Macintosh. Why? Well, there's a million reasons. iLife is a great reason. With iLife, you have a complete suite of software for managing your digital life. You have iPhoto for all of your precious photos. iPhoto stores and organizes your photos. Photo editing is easy with iPhoto. There's iMovie to edit your digital videos. iMovie is easy with drag and drop operation and great editing effects. It's surprisingly fast, as well. There's iDVD to create professional looking DVDs of your photo slideshows and iMovie creations. There's also iWeb, an application that makes building web pages a breeze. I almost forgot GarageBand. GarageBand is great for creating music. It's easier, yet more powerful than anything I've used on the PC. So, you like software? There's always this myth spread around by PC users that there's this great lack of software for Macs. Not true. There may be millions of calendar programs for the PC, but out of those million, how many are any good? Two or three? Simply put, crap doesn't survive in the Mac market. :-) Don't want to pay a fortune for Microsoft Office? There's NeoOffice, a port of OpenOffice and native to Mac OS X. It's got all the features of Microsoft Office, but it's free. Like Google's software? Great, because Google is now making a commitment to making great Mac software. Like AOL IM? Great, it's built in to the system with iChat. PDF files? Built in. Basically put, if it's available for the PC, there's a pretty good chance that there's a Mac OS X equivalent, or better. Here's another myth: Mac's lack of viruses is due to it's lack of users or low market share. Again, not true. Here's a link to a great article debunking that myth.

As you may have heard, you can now run Windows on any new Macintosh. This means that you can continue to use your PC programs and play your PC games, just as if you were on a PC. Windows runs fully native on a Mac, thanks to it's speedy Intel processors. Here's another myth: Macs are more expensive. Again, not true. A Dell system similar to a Mac in it's configuration is generally more expensive or just as expensive as the Macintosh. Also, a Macintosh will not require additional software to buy. A Mac comes with most of the software you will ever need, aside from professional software, such as Logic Pro or Aperture. Here's another myth: You'll be stuck with a one-button mouse. Again, not true. You can use ANY multi-button USB mouse with a Mac, even one with a scroll wheel. They all work great. :-) Look, I could go on all day. Just do some reading, there's plenty of great reasons to buy a Mac.

in the journey that your MacBook is depending on the Intel chipset, then you might want to run both MacOS or residing house windows. in case you upload some third-party software, it is also conceivable to run them both mutually. Why might want to you want residing house windows? nicely, the purely reason i love having that is for some very wonderful courses I even ought to run. Others may have an rather enormous funding in residing house windows software they could't purely throw out. Others may purely favor residing house windows. Vista has a firewall (as does XP). It has extra aggresive protection settings than its predecessors. many people locate it extremely demanding and turn it all the way down to the position that is fairly unnecessary. as far as virus topics, Macs are not immune, yet they have continually had an more advantageous protection kind than residing house windows from the starting up. Vista is about as undesirable XP in this regard...you nonetheless ought to have some third-party virus protection to be fairly probability-free. the finest gadget i have ever had for operating residing house windows is my modern-day iMac. Apple extremely went above and previous offering the necessary drivers to make XP artwork nicely on Apple hardware.

Macs are less expensive than comparably equipped Dell's and the Mac can run more software, since it can run all OS X software and all Windows software. Even when you find a cheaper Windows system, you have to add in the cost of viruses, which can be very expensive whey your Windows antivirus software misses one!

For stability I would recomend Mac. For popularity of titles and compatibility I would choose Windows. The chose is yours and really depends on what you intend to do on the PC. Good luck
