There's been research that the flashing of video games can cause headaches and seizures. I rarely get headaches from flashes unless I'm playing in the dark and mainly its just my eyes hurting from the sudden change in brightness. Usually, if your playing in a well lit room the flashing screens of video games won't have such a big effect. The other thing could be the movement of the graphics.

I mainly get headaches when I play a game that requires a lot of 1st person movement through a screen like Spyro, Medal of Honor and Grand Theft Auto where there's a lot of turning around and around. I'm prone to motion sickness especially with certain drivers and I think the reason why I get headaches and kinda sick on these types of games is because the way the graphics shift across the screen are similar to the way the surroundings shift around in a moving car. They eyes are constantly shifting back and forth as you track and refocus, like building up from a very slow spin. The movements just add up to the same dizzying effect.

You might be like me and prone to the graphics motion instead of the flashing. The only way I can play those games is in brief periods, I stop when my eyes start to hurt, which is the first sign for me that the game is effecting me. If I don't stop then the headache comes, followed by the feeling of nausea. You'll jsut have to do like me... take a break for a while and give your eyes a rest.

I don't but I know several people who do get motion sickness from playing FPSs. Try playing in third person if possible or take some Dramamine before playing.

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like you either need glasses, or are sensitive to the flashing lights and movement in the game. You need to be checked by a physician. If you are sensitive to the strobe effect, you are putting yourself at risk for a siezure if you continue to play without being checked out.

Try an online PC game ... or give it all up and find something good to do outside.
