Both, as Run DMC/Aerosmiths 'Walk this way' and Anthraxs 'I'm the Man' show, they are not mutually exclusive music types & in fact both have the same roots.

Rock most definitely. I don't like rap because it's usually about the same old thing. Rock can be about anything, it's full of emotion. So, yea, ROCK, ROCK, ROCK!
rap's not music anyway.
