Hey don't worry it won't all come out of the lottery we'll pay for it with hiked up council tax too.

I don't want the olympics here, look at Montreal, Barcelona, Sydney they are still paying for it it makes me so angry, and it's for select few, because i wont ever use it and nor will my family.

The Dome what a success that was. I would love to see Stratford in 10 years time.....

Jobs jobs jobs.....for who exactly, the contractors building it. Just thought of another success, Wembley Stadium how much over budget is that brain child?!

well the up side hes not asking the tax payer to fund it and the lottery is not spending money on say opera houses or paintings or art farty things that as a rule if you live in London great for those who can afford to see them . the real question you should be asking is after the lottery what will happen to all the investment . mmmm let me read my crystal ball regardless of which party is in power it will be sold off or privatised with the proceeds going back into the government coffers surprise surprise

They are good at helping themselves to other people's money. Why should they ? Well it is because they can get away with it.

If you remember Aberfan - well the then Labour government helped themselves to £160,000 from the relief fund to remove the remaining coal heaps - it was paid back without interest this year! So theoretically just pinching lottery money is less sleazy really.

Because they do whatever they want. Council tax in London will go far above the levy of 40 pence a week promised by Liar Livingstone. In addition our taxes will be syphoned off to pay for it as well by the Muppet's who forgot about the VAT due to be paid on the construction!. This is 'joined up government?'

Because rather than do good for our country they want to spend it on something thats going to cramp it up a little more and give Britain a slightly better image to the rest of the world...
Because the general population of Britain really care what the world thinks...

I fully agree, it is another white elephant that will cost the tax payers dearly
I cannot understand why we should want to lumber ourselves with the olympics in this day and age, what a terrorist target!!!
god knows what the political situation will be in 2012 or whenever it is

They shouldn't they should have let someone else have the games that could afford them without us having to suffer more than we already are.. the money would have been put to better use if they would put into sorting welfare of the working class out and education

I don't believe that the government of *any* country, state, city or what ever level should fund *any* sport activity.... or musical or art of any kind for that matter. If the private sector can't or won't support them they don't need tax dollars to bale them out.
