I currently have only one full bathroom and I would like to add a master bathroom. The size will be small, about 6'x10'. Ideally I would like toilet, double sink, shower, and whirlpool tub. I don't think it will all fit. So I was thinking toilet, double sink and spa shower. My spouse thinks that we need a tub for resale especially since it will be a master. We do have a tub in the other bathroom and I don't take baths anyway. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Well I would think it would depend on what you prefer and how long you are going to be in that house. If you are only going to be there a year and are just fixing it up to add move value, then I would go ahead and put in a tub. If you are planning on being there for a long time and selling it WAY later on, do what best suits the 2 of you.

I believe that, unless you plan to sell far into the future, resale value is very important. However, I don't see a problem with a whirlpool tub-shower combination. You should easily get a five-feet long double sink and toilet in the rest of the space.

Considering the amount of space you have, a spa shower would be fine, although, 6'x10' is more than adequate to support a whirlpool tub. You just have to have a good floor pan to fit it all in.
It really isn't unusual for the master bath to have only a shower, especially if you prefer showers instead of baths.

leave the tub where it is. just put in a stall shower. if the day ever arises that you need to sit in the hot water, you can always use the existing tub in another room. 6 x 10' isn't much. Is there any possible way you can make it bigger for all the goodies? Break out the out side wall and extend it into where you yard used to be??

I think a spa shower would be more appealing to buyers down the line. Get one that has a ledge for sitting and lots of built in showerhead jets along the wall.
