I've got 790 positive feedback on ebay and that is such an open question. I've been selling on ebay since 1999. Ebay isn't what it once was. It used to be a sellers market on ebay but now its a buyers market.
I will put it succinctly, there is too much competition on ebay now. Every time you list something and it doesn't sell, you still pay fees. When you list something and it sells, you pay more fees and when the buyer uses paypal to pay, you pay more fees. You can do moderately better selling your stuff on ebay than at a garage sale. It depends on demand and how rare. Keep in mind when selling on ebay you have to ship everything you sell. You'd better have a post office near by and be prepared to stand in line when it comes to shipping your sales. eBay is good for a hobby now a way to supplement your income. Its not a good way to make money anymore.
I compare it to being a real estate agent. During the peak of the housing boom, it was relatively easy to make a lot of money. The boom for sellers on ebay was several years ago. Now if you want something cheap, go to ebay, there are bargains galore now (which means the sellers aren't making much).

Get a digital camera
Know the price of what you are selling
compare the prices of what you are selling
be able to ship what you are selling in a timely manner
undercut the lowest seller on shipping costs or include free shipping . You'll see an amazing increase in business.

Most things will just sell themselves, a good photo, a good HONEST description, a fair postage/shipping cost, that's all you need.
