Sami don't be too hard on yourself, Really though the best thing is you have all the materials you need right under your nose...
This site is perfect to get ideas for a story or plot - Just have a look at all the different questions being asked and why they are being asked...
Take your time and read through some of the ones that interest you and then give yourself a 'what if ? ' question around an interesting subject and you'll create an original plot.
Hope this helps and good luck with it.

I think you are missing the point of your homework assignment. If one of us comes up with it for you, then it isn't your original idea.
It is difficult for ANYONE to come up with original plots. That's why Hollywood keeps rehashing the same stories over and over again.
Just sit down and tell a story. Set them in a grocery store and make something crazy happen in the store. Try getting a can of cranberries, paint, a mother of two, and a lamp involved. (Four completely random items.)
Now, run with it. Put them together on your own, and you'll come up with a plot.
Have fun!

The two characters could be co-workers who don't get on (a back-stabbing style thing).
The setting could be at a job interview.
The complication could be that neither of them can tell their boss that the other is planning on leaving the company without the boss finding out, but don't know whether the boss knows the other is looking for work. Will they stay hostile, will one of them be friendly, will one of them make excuses, or veiled threats. You could play with the dynamics of their relationship, and either turn them on their head by the end of the scene, or turn them on their head, then have something suddenly return them to normal (their boss walking in perhaps?). It's up to you.
With reference to your problem with original storylines: try drawing on your life experience and observations of people's characters (how they interact with each other, how they react to bad news, good news, competition etc.). If you let your storylines be driven by the exploration of realistic characters, rather than a series of events, it'll come from you, so it's more likely to be original.
Best of luck, and keep on writing!

John Lennnon said once in a song lyric " theres nothing you can say thats not ben said before.".
With that in mind and because you said original?
You are the only one that can give You an original idea, if someone gave it to you its no longer orignal now is it?
psst good luck with that, In my lifetime I have seen but few orig thoughts and perhaps even they are suspect
You might have a better chance of solving the milleniuum math questions...oh by the way solving one of them would indeed be ORIGINAL and last I heard the 7 of them paid over 1 million dollars each... cheers

You are a student . (make it first person, it is more captivating, gives it a touch of reality ) You admire your teacher so much in science. Only to find out that he is not really what she/he claims to be. ..So you can start with this sentence.
"Mr. Beams was the best teacher in my sixth grade class. He has ".... (you can go on from here)
or " The school ground was afire..." (you can go on from here...)
Use simple sentences and words. what is important is you can keep the interest of the reader so he will be interested in the next sentence and the next.

There are basically maximum of hassle-free plots. you will constantly discover something comparable on your artwork in case you seem stressful sufficient. even with the undeniable fact that that may no longer comparable to pointing out in public that your novel does not have an unique plot. It occurs to maximum writers on occasion that they have got an thought and then something comes out that's only too comparable (occurred to me greater desirable than as quickly as). What you may desire to do is recover from it and pass on. you may play with comparable subject concerns and recommendations even with the undeniable fact that it is your activity to cause them to clean and unique. different clever you're basically a hack and a extraordinarily destructive one at that.
