I see stuff all the time about saying "It was this and that that made me do it." Like when I went on a teen pregnancy site and one of help things said "Maybe you didn't mean to have sex." How can you not mean to have sex? "I don't know what happened, we were talking and the next thing I knew I was pregnant." Or people that ***** that rock/ heavy metal/ "ruined" their life. Seems to me that people like putting the blame on other things then accepting responsibility. One of the things ppl said against rock music was that it leads to a bad lifestyle. They'd do drugs, drink, everything cuz rock music "influenced" them. Actually I think I should report this to a center of learning cuz I don't think they know that rock music has arms and legs and the ability to force you to do things. YOU MAKE YOUR OWN CHOICES. What do these people do? Go through a daily phase of stupidity?

rotflmao...you make some very good points! yes, we do make our own choices. ppl who make excuses for everything thing that happens to them are just in denial, and aren't willing to take responsibility for their actions. great question btw...maybe it will get some ppl thinking for themselves, and taking more responsibility for their actions.

Man has all kinds of "cutesy" sayings that apply to one situation or another.
But they don't apply to every individual and every situation.
Our world is full of paradoxes. Situations that work against themselves and
are self-defeating. We are not robots, that never react emotionally to things.
We do have the mental capability however, to control "most" reactions we
have, so as not to make the situation "worse".
They like to say today that nobody hurts you. You "let" them hurt you. And
you can't blame anybody for anything. Then they want to put the weight of the
world on you!
Free will only goes so far. Because there are 7,000,000,000 people in this
world, and they're all stepping on each others toes.
I'm taking "my" share of the responsibility for what happens to me. But
I'm not taking "all" the blame!

Yes. I believe we make our own choices.
If we claim it was the influence of other people, well, as adults we have a choice of who to associate with.
If we claim it was the music that influenced us, again, as adults, we can choose.
Now, if it's a child, at home with fighting parents, who learn to fight, it could be different. But when that child grows up, he or she still has the choice whether to fight or not.
People have to stop blaming everything else and take responsibility for their own behavior.

People make their own choices. If they want to go through life with the thumbs up their *** that's their choice and I for one don't feel sorry for their stupidity.

I believe that the most important thing that god ever created is the human brain, because its the most thinking thing he ever created.

In this creation my friend lies the core of the choice nature of our lives, because many people can use their brains to deny god, while many others use it to reach to god.

Now see that god gave us the choice in the most important case of our existence, which is accepting or denying god himself, wouldn't he let us have the choice in all other aspects of life ?

The matter is that people always mix between fate and choice, and sometimes they ask, if god is good, then why he let us do or fate us to do bad things, but it doesn't go like that, its that god fated our choices to be done, because its our well, as I believe, fate and choice don't conflict, they are the same thing in fact.

We believe in Islam, that when we are going to do something important in our lives, we'd better pray to god and ask him to guide us to the good. You donno how to pray like us, but I think that god will still accept it if you do it in your own way.

Right or wrong, yes, I do make my own choices. I wish I could blame my bad decisions on someone else, but they are my choices, I made them, now I must live with them.

the concept of hell is purely absurd... there is not something someone can do in a short human existence span that would want to represent torturing them for all eternity... i do not even imagine Christians can carry close the concept of eternity nor of what unconditional love is... you won't be able to say your god is finished of unconditional love and forgiveness yet punishes those with torture for all eternity for something so ordinary as not believing without information. those thoughts are very primitive and in holding with superstition.
