no, thats false. everyone gets sick when they are pregnant. The medicine you take when sick can affect the baby though.
The only pain medicine you should take in tylanol.
If you go to prenatal classes you should get a packet. In that packet their should be a list of medicines you can and cant take.
your doctor should be able to give you a list too.

The mother getting sick, like a cold, sinus infection, flu, etc. will not cause abnormalities in a baby. However, when you are pregnant and get sick you need to be very careful about what medications you take and always talk to you doctor or a pharmacist(and let them know you are pregnant and how far along) before you take anything to make sure that it is ok to take while pregnant to reduce the chance of any adverse side affects.

If you are talking about the average cold and flue No this will not harm the baby while pregnant. How ever you must be sure to talk to your Dr or pharmacist before taking any cold medication and if you are vomiting with the flue be careful not to get dehydrated. There are a few thing to watch out for: Measles, chicken pox,Mumps,Meningitis, can also be harmful when pregnant. Also if you have cats it is important that you not be the one to clean the litter box as there is a bacteria in the urine and feces that can cause problems. If you are interested you can look up heath and wellness while pregnant on line and find out more info.

Most women experience some type of sickness during pregnancy... it's called morning sickness.

If it were true then my son should be a rival for the Hunchback of Norte Dame! I was so sick I was almost hospitalized several times throughout the pregnancy. He's an absolutely healthy, gorgeous 5 months old now!

In my experience this isn't true. I remember getting sick when I was pregnant and it really sucked, I was miserable. Pregnant women can't take any kind of medication when they are sick besides sudafed, and that don't work that great! 5 months later I had a beautiful baby boy, he has no abnormalties that I, or anyone else knows about. He's perfect....so, there ya go. It's not true!

NO! I don't know who told you that! Unless your doctor told you something then he or she will be fine. I had 2 urinary tract infections and my son is healthy and normal. There is things in place to make sure your baby doesn't get sick that is a reason why we get sick well pregnant, all your cells are trying to protect your baby. But check to make sure that you and your husband have the same blood type. I am a neg blood type and if my son wasn't neg my body would try to attack, so I had to get shots to prevent that from happening.

It depends on what you mean by "sick". There are some diseases that if you catch them during pregnancy, they can be transmitted to the baby and cause problems. Examples of this include toxoplasmosis (a parasitic infection derived from cat boxes), rubella (which can cause deafness and other problems), and some STDs (syphilis, gonorrhea, or herpes, for example). It doesn't mean that if you get a cold, the flu, or something common like that that it will affect the baby.

I believe it depends on the sickness the mother gets...

I had chronic bronquitis twice while pregnant and my baby is totally normal.
