Having the "need", but being denied it till they are of "age"? But we do
it anyway. And telling us we're "bad", and threatening us with Hell, drives us
nuts!

Nobody denies it to you, just don't f*ck with my Daughter, or I'll murder ya.

Sounds like this question is such an act of rebellion. It seems as though you are trying to justify your thoughts or actions. There are several facts to consider. Right and wrong are independent of what you or I think. We can think anything we want and 2+2 still equals 12 in the base three number system or 4 in any number system base four and above. Our thoughts and feelings don't change anything.
Our society is not alone in this. If you go to the jungles you will see this. A big difference is the nature of acknowledging adulthood. Where I grew up, 16 was driving, 18 was voting, and 21 was adult. In some places they still have initiation rights or rights of passage which formally signal to the kid and the community that the kid has become an adult. In some cases the father is challenged to some ritual combat or other competition. In other cases some task requiring skill, courage, or pain tolerance is performed. We have no such ritual or acknowledgment. Imagine being 25 and people still treating you like a kid. In some cases military service is considered to perform that function, "They go in as boys and come out as men".
In short, you are out of luck. You'll have to tough it out like the rest of us. You can do it. Truth like life isn't always fair. I can imagine it now, "Momma, why did the lion eat my friend?" "Because he was hungry. I am so sorry."
