Hi there wondering if anyone can help me! I came off the pill on the 11th October and came on two days later. I still havent had a period yet and its 19th November. Ive done two tests and both were negative, was it too early to test? I feel llike at times Im going to come on, and my breasts did hurt, but they dont anymore. And can i still get pregnant even though i have had no period. Thank you x.

Your first period after the pill was probably withdrawal bleeding from the lack of hormones in your system. It can take a little while for ovulation to resume after the pill - your body may just need some time to adjust to the hormone changes. I'd suggest talking to your OB/GYN about your plans to conceive. Your doctor can also help make sure you're in the best health possible to conceive - for example, are you taking folic acid/prenatal vitamins? Those are so important.

You can certainly get pregnant before your next period if you time it correctly, but of course it's much harder to time it before you have an idea about what your cycle will be like off the pill - it probably won't be the handy 28-30 days as when it was caused by the pill.

Good luck. If you want more information, the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility is excellent.

One test is normally enought, over 12 hours will give a result, you can sometimes miss a period out due to a whole host of reasons. you may have been pregnant, if only for a few days to a couple of weeks and your body decided that this was not quite the right time?? A lot of people will misscarry in the VERY early stages and not even know it. If you came off the pill in order for you to become pregnant then keep trying and good luck.

yes you can get pregnant. Messing with your body's chemistry will always have some reaction. The reaction in this case is a slow return to natural activities.
