I decided to drop out of college recently (I am a sophmore) and take a break because I was really burnt out. I was doing well, but I was not happy. I don't know if I did the right thing or not. I also have no idea what I want to do career wise ( I was a philosophy major, which you can't do much with). I also started college 1 year early ( at 17).

My question is have you ever dropped out of college and did taking a break make you feel better? Did you drop out permanently and, if so, do you wish you had went back?

I dropped out, went to work, got my credit , bought my stuff then had to work and pay it off and it is never ending..I wished I had not dropped out and stayed with it..as far as a Major..well that is a tuffy...You won't really know what you want until you experience more of life..all you can do is pick something and hang in until you see something that strikes your fancy..any advanced formal education is a zillion times better than none..Check out some testing to see where your interest are and then maybe pursue education leading to something you like and enjoy doing..A degree will get your foot in the door, now sell yourself, you can always go for a masters later on..It's ok to take a break but don't get bogged down in the silly, unimportant stuff..DON'T STAY AWAY FROM YOUR EDUCATION TO LONG...or you might never go back..Good Luck to you, take care and you'll find your niche!

I took one or two classes at a time. I was married , had children and was working full time. College is very demanding and I understand what you mean being burnt out. Take a short break, but you do need to finish college. You are young and may not know what you want to do in life yet...this is normal. As to what you want to do....only you can chose your vocation.
Good luck and don't give up.

Yes I have. I had a decent job and had recently bought a house. The company decided to make drastic changes to their policies and require mandatory certifications. Those who didn't pass the certification tests were terminated. So.... instead of focusing on my college classes, I suddenly found myself in survival mode, trying to save my job so that I would have a roof over my head. Worrying about those silly certification tests and trying to keep up with the college classes became too much for me to handle.
