One could as readily ask why white females are so attracted to black males. One, it's an over generalization, while I can't cite actual percentages I've known a lot of black men who either preferred black lovers or didn't care about the race, the same with white women. Maybe you should ignore the skin color and look at other ways she is different, many people are attracted to the exotic, that why many people from the U.S. are attracted to Europeans or Asians. We are all individuals, with our unique tastes and needs, if we find someone who meets them, we will rarely let cosmetic differences, like skin or hair color, stand in the way. Why did you post a question on hetero attraction in the LGBT section?

Some of them probably just feel sexually attracted to white females (it's said that the attraction between people is somehow determined by "racial" differences: the more genetically different a person is from another, the bigger the attraction between them).
Others probably feel attracted to a supposed status associated to Barbie girls.
In Brazil, foreigners, especially Germans, tend to be more attracted to black females. My husband is son of a German-descendant and a Black woman. On the other side, I'm daughter of a Black man and a Portuguese-descendant woman. It's so common around here.

Not ALL black men prefer white women. I have dated men from a variety of races, but have always found black men attractive - I don't know why, it's just what appeals to me. It's like asking why some people like broccoli; taste is purely subjective.
When I have dated black men, the dirtiest looks we got came from black women. Any time I read an article or watch a show where interracial relationships are the topic, the argument is that there aren't enough good black men available. I am currently single and looking, and have found that there are many black men on Yahoo Personals that prefer black women, so perhaps you aren't looking in the right places.

It's a mind thing. Blacks in this country have a lot of pain. And Black men
and women have been taking it out on each other for far too long. It makes them talk about each other like they are doggs and bitches, and somebody
has an attitude.
Many Blacks think Whites don't have attitudes, and they are better partners.
Whites don't hate Blacks. Just a few Whites who have no self-respect, and don't want anybody else to have any self-respect.
But if a Black man goes at a White women with an attutide. She will get one too, quick! Know what I'm saying?
Everybody needs to just CHILL!

Many times I've seen a handsome black man with a less than attractive white woman and I ask myself the same question. A black friend of mine said she thinks it's goes back to the olden days where black men couldn't even look at white women without getting in trouble. I think we're all God's children and it takes ever color together to make a beautiful rainbow.

Don't know how this applies to the gays, but I prefer white men. I've dated several races - black, white, romanian, asian, middle eastern, but there's something about the white boys that drive me absolutely insane. Brandon Boyd, Josh Duhamel, Ian Somerhalder...Wow! My fiance is white/vietnamese and he's hot as hell.
Damn, I need a cigarette now.
But about the black guys...I don't know..My friend who's white attracts a lot of black guys because she's built like a brick house, not the typical slim white girl physique. There are a lot of high profile black men who are married to all sorts of races, not just white. I think people should be free to date whoever they want, personally.
Variety is the spice of life!

I think a lot of it has to do with conditioning - what is mostly displayed on tv and in magazines. We are exposed to this even from a very young age. You more often than not see some hot white woman on a magazine cover or on a tv show. The media plays a big part of it and it affects men and women both. Men start to want what they are seeing all over magazines and think that's what all women look like, and women start wanting to look like these women who are electronically altered to look perfect. It's a sad vicious circle if you ask me.

Thats a good question .. I was raised in a small town in Texas and then moved to a military town( Killeen, Texas) that had a high black to white ratio and It seemed to be a popular thing for black men to have white wives etc..I lived there almost 10 years and really never could figure it out..
If you know someone that is in a mixed relationship like that, ask them . I am curious about that too and if you find out , let me know..

If a black man is disposed to think of females as objects then a prclivity to choose a white partner may be motivated by a desire for a STATUS symbol
