We are constantly swamped with claims of all kinds, from commercials, from magazines, and from "research" that tells us what we "should" be thinking and how we should feel about things.
Learning to to think in a logical manner helps us to push aside what others think and to consider the facts ourselves. For instance, with all of these "diets" developed by "specialists" that have done "research," when we think logically we know that anything imbalanced in this manner cannot be healthy for us in the long run and will do nothing more than line the pockets of the "specialists." We can use our logic to see that the only thing that has been proven through the years and makes any actual sense is to balance our meals, to eat natural foods and to exercise regularly.
With logic, we can stop and ask ourselves "why" and be able to answer. We can look past the rhetoric and into the base facts. If we can't find a logical answer, then we know that the premise is likely invalid. It's really the most important thing for people to learn and the thing that is most often left unlearned.

Are you taking a philosophy/symbolic logic class and are confused? Well, if you're an engineer of any sort, or a programmer of any sort, knowing logic can actually help out quite a bit... You'd be surprised how elementary, symbolic logic can actually help in some real-life situations. How does it help? Well, a formalized system of logic helps us make decisions and rationalize things when we have very little information, or when we can't decide things by ourselves. Well, in the context of everyday life. If you need a more barebones answer, I can say that you need logic if you want to get an engineering or computing degree :) Combined with good assumptions, and a little intuition, logic can be a powerful thing.

So you can do geometry.
In the Classical world the Seven Liberal Arts were divided into the Trivium ("the three roads") and the Quadrivium ("the four roads").
The Trivium consisted of:
Grammar
Rhetoric
Logic
The Quadrivium consisted of:
Arithmetic -- Number in itself
Geometry -- Number in space
Music, Harmonics, or Tuning Theory -- Number in time
Astronomy or Cosmology -- Number in space and time
These seven subjects were the Classical world's Primary and Secondary Education curricula, respectively. Each subject is the foundation for the next and could not be progressed to until the earlier subject was mastered.
It's no accident that Primary schools are referred to often as Grammar Schools.
College education would be a study of Philosophy, Medicine or Law (and are still the basis of our Doctorates today, PhD, MD, JD).

To be able to show off your superior intellect without sounding stupid.
If you don't understand logic you cannot possibly reason out an answer, solution, or argument. The best you could do without logic is try to memorize every possible answer to every question you encounter. [Simple logic tells you that is impossible.]
Logic is an area of study that you will use in every aspect of your life every single day.
Word of warning: If you end up being a logic whiz, you are going to be really freaked out when you try to argue with someone [e.g. your spouse] who is completely illogical.

So you can actually win an argument...
Go ahead and refuse or protest.
We have no need to convince those who don't have the will to understand the truth. The city is a fine zoo for people who disdain all theory, and cultivate a taste for being told what to think.
It's like cow's tongue-- a very nice treat when you get used to it.
Bon appetit.

The material aspect of life can be handled with least effort and maximum benefit only with good logic, thus leaving us with more time and leisure to enjoy the cream of life, namely, the intuitions, emotions etc !

Because Logic is the language of our minds. When you understand logic, you can have conversation with your mind, rather than exercise. It's kind of mind training.

Hsuan-sha sent a monk to his old teacher, Hseuh-feng, with a letter of greeting. Hseuh-feng gathered his monks and opened the letter in their presence. The envelope contained nothing but three sheets of blank paper. Hseuh-feng showed the paper to his monks and said, "Do you understand?"
There was no answer, so Hseuh-feng said, "My prodigal son writes just what I think."
When Hsuan-sha heard what happened at Hseuh-feng's monastery, he said, "My old man is in his dotage."
