Embarrassment - may-be they fancy that person !
Or because they don't like that person.
Or they could recent the persons help/interference.
They might be shy. Or have a lack of confidence.

I always find the eyes the most appealing part to any person. When it can become unbearable, is when it is prolonged! If someone goes on staring at you sooner or later, it is going to come across as agressive!

some people sometimes find eye contact very uncomfortable maybe because they hold a bid secret and wouldn't like you knowing also people believe the eyes are the window to your soul they maybe feel insecure about their soul so they don't let you see for a long period also some people just plain don't like it

It really has to do with the mind and sociality as it defines the way we percieve someone so someone that sheds some eye contact on someone can be percieved at the different end another way, for example I looked at someone down in the street the wrong way, like a ned for example he would think "what the fekk is that **** looking at"... Thats their mentality, excuse my language if you look at him the wrong way he would think about using his fist firstly, and then brain latter, I think also aswell its to with the reactions to see why is he looking at me and stuff...

Because eye contact for too long a time can signal aggression, just as in dogs. Prolonged eye contact in humans can either signal a challenge or too intense feelings. Either way, it is uncomfortable.

I think it's a communication thing. They don't want to look at you because they don't want to have any direct contact with you. I personally find it quite rude when people speak to me and have there head down or doing something else (unless of course they have to look away or are engaged in something else)or don't look at me when I speak to them. It depends on the circumstances butwhen there's nothing about, just you and him, they should be lookin at you if you're intacting with each ither in someway.

All say(books and experts) that anyone who does ot look you in the eye when talking is hiding something.. they are lying, etc.. In general.. I believe this is true to a degree. BUT.. for myself, I can look a person in the eye but I cannot keep looking at a person as it makes me uncomfortable.. Am I lying.. NO.. Am I attempting to hide something? No.. It is just the way I am

Very good question. They say that the eyes are the window to the soul. There are so many reasons that I don't think there is one single answer to that.

I think it's because they are guilty about something and don't want the other person to see it in their eyes.
