I don't think that women have a problem expressing their emotional side to a man - particularly a man that she is involved with however, I do believe that when you open yourself up to someone with those three words - I love you - you may be subjected to negative responses or no response at all and that can hurt. I believe I have always been the first to tell a man that I was involved with that "I love him" and sometimes I would get - I 'care' about you too. (smile) Men have more of a problem saying those words than women. It's the fear of commitment I think and knowing that you might be in it for the long haul and find that you don't want to be.....

it's the same for ladies as it is for men, we all have a built in fear of rejection. Although times and trends have changed, wasn't it the man who pursued the woman? I think that is the way it should be. In the animal world, the males are after the females, saying "you have something I want, and I have something to offer, will you accept"? That's the way I liked to be approached.

For SOME ladies it's hard. It is fear of rejection...the women who cannot approach a man and come right out and tell him have low self-esteem. I know because I can have low self-esteem and so can 99% of the women in America. If you like a woman and you think she likes you and are waiting for her to approach you....make yourself more approachable. Get talking to her and get to know her...before you know it she will get more comfortable talking open with you and then eventually tell you how she feels!! Good Luck!

Because they don't want to be used! The man might not really be into her but pretend to just to get what they want from her...

for the same reason it's difficult for a guy. They don't want to be shot down. But for women it's worse because they don't want to be used. When he knows you like him he also knows you may go a little further to make this work.

Because stereotype tells us that it is the men's job to approach, while all the ladies can do is to wait passively for their dream guy to approach them.
And this stereotype can be broken.

My experience tells me that women are very sensative beings who are terified of rejection. This is why they rely on the male to make the first move.

Guys can take rejection because that is the way it has always been. If a woman is rejected, everyone makes fun of her.
