My best friend MADE my twins a crocheted blanket & scrapbooks for each of them. Unfortunately I don't have the time to do that, but I'd still like to get her something a little more "sentimental" or "personal" (my sister & I already bought her a swing). She is having a boy & the shower is next weekend. Any ideas? Thanks!

since you are friends, add a gift that is personal between the two of you for the little one, Maybe something made up with the boys name on it, a blanket, or a personalized outfit with the name on it, with a baby history book that she can keep track of all the events and special things in the childs life. Of course, a months free box of diapers wouldnt hurt..lol... good luck..

Sentimental Baby Shower Gifts

One of my most treasured gifts I got from may baby shower was a miniture rose bush. Now, 2 and a half yrs later, my daughter and I enjoy it together when we are out in the garden. She loves watching and waiting for her next rose to open up on her rose bush! Not overly sentimental, but a lovely gift all the same and one that can grow with baby.

My best friend (who is not Martha Stewart by any means!) got my son a silver piggy bank. After he was born, she took it in and had his name, date of birth, birth weight and height engraved on it. It's still one of my favorite shower gifts as it will be something that lasts throughout his life whereas most of the clothes and other items he's already outgrown. I also like it as my husband and I toss our loose change into it. It's almost full now (our son is 5 months old) so we'll open a savings account for him with it and encourage him to put the money into the account whenever his piggy is full!

My best friend got me the most amazing gift... it's a giant candle that has numbers marked down the side, 1-18. You burn the candle down at every birthday the child has, only one segment, so it's like burning a year away. The child will look forward to this ritual so much! Talk about sentimental, I cried and cried, and can't wait to burn it at the first b-day, and also I wish it would last forever. Google Lillian Vernon Candle, that should bring you to the link. Good luck!

Ask her to come over and have supplies to make a belly mold! Have it dryed and ready for her shower so the guest can sign it. (use paper macsha) This is something that she can show her little boy when he gets older, like how big she was and how many people couldn't wait to see him!

if she hasn't had the baby yet and you have a good camera, take some pictures of her, have them blown up and framed. it's not too expensive and she'll love it in a few years when her child says " that's me" and points to her belly.
this will probably be the child's best/favorite gift when she/he gets older.

For my baby shower my best friend gave me an engraved name plate bracelet for my son. on one side she put his name and on the other it said i love you. hes too small to wear it now and i dont if i will let him wear it when he is older for fear of losing it. it was the best gift i could have gotten from anyone especially her.
